#23 I have made it to the end

This was a fantastic learning opportunity. I thank all who were involved for organising it. It would be very difficult to pick a favourite learning task. I feel I have a better understanding of what web 2.0 can do and how this could be used within a library environment.

#22 Audio books

Project Gutenberg... What a time consuming but fantastic project. Classics available to all. Although Edgar Allen Poe isn't quite the same when read by a computer.

#21 Podcasts, Smodcast

Podcasting gives anyone who has access to the internet a soapbox to the world. With so many podcasts out there it is good to see some clever people have thought of a way for others to search for the ones they want.

#20 You too can YouTube

YouTube... true freedom of speech and all the pitfalls which this can contain.

#19 Discovering web2.0 tools

The site I looked at was Biblio.com which looks like a cross between Amazon and Global books in print for second hand, rare and out of print books. Great if a patron asks where can I buy that book which they loved and you have had hiding in your collection for 10 years.

# 17 Sand box

I have added my blog to the list. These things are starting to become easier.

#18 Web:based apps

Free word processor! How did this get past Microsoft???

#16 Wikis!

The Wonderful World of Wikis
They are a great thing as long as contributors are not malicious. I noticed Library Success has had what they called vandalism problems. You would need to keep a keen eye on your wiki so you could re-edit any nasty contributions. :>

#14 Technorati

Tags... the poor persons LCSH??

#13 del.icio..us

This would be good for the reference desk. Having lists of popular sites bookmarked this way and the ability to search from tags, might make searches for information easier.

Play Week

What fun!
I have generated creatures, made a bookshelf list and created my own favourite book shop search box.

Generators are Fun

I can't believe this is work! I have had a lot of fun playing with generators of all types.

RSS feeds

Not having to search for the most current information on a subject. Excellent...
I am sure someone in library land has thought of this already but...New book lists in libraries. Having patrons being able to subscribe to a RSS feed of new book lists would be wonderful.

I forgot to name my posting as flickr so here is a flickr posting. I had fun making my trading card with the flickr tools

Library Dread

How do people come up with the ideas to write day after day on their blogs. I get tounge tied (finger tied?) and have no idea what to say. To all the creative people out there in library land....Hats off to you!

Time to catch up with my teen

I am very happy to be able to learn about web 2.0 through work. It will give me more of an idea of what my teenager (who these things seem to come naturally to) is doing with our home pc.
